I notice that you have toasted the insides of the bap as well.

I almost always do (lightly). When "Wimpy" restaurants (for want of a better description) were popular in the 60s in UK they always toasted the buns. I've had the habit ever since.
 
Its a weird one because with cheese on toast, my family always toasted both sides of the toast and then put the cheese on one and melted it. but my husbands family, only toasted 1 side of the bread, and then put the cheese on the unmelted side after they had put butter on. I feel a thread coming on!

The latter is as I have always prepared cheese on toast. But toasted cheese (plus whatever) sandwiches are constructed differently in my world.
