autumn
Autumn, also known as fall in North American English, is one of the four temperate seasons. Autumn marks the transition from summer to winter, in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere). Autumn is the season when the duration of daylight becomes noticeably shorter and the temperature cools considerably.
Feeling very fall-like here today (dead leaves sailing by on the November breeze), and I'm thinking of my favorite tastes this time of year:
Apples and apple cider, and all things made with apple cider (doughnuts, muffins)
Spice cake
Pear crisp/crumble
Big steaming bowls of oatmeal/porridge...
