There is evidence that the crop was widely cultivated by the Aztecs in pre-Columbian times and was a staple food for Mesoamerican cultures. Chia seeds are cultivated on a small scale in their ancestral homeland of central Mexico and Guatemala and commercially throughout Central and South America.
How long do chia seeds need to expand in cold, warm and boiling water?
I left some chia seeds in cold water for about 20 minutes and they didn't look any bigger.
Does anyone have any ideas for how to use Chia Seeds, other than making a pudding?
I have made a pudding with them using both almond milk and chocolate milk, both were great. But I'm kind of stuck what else to do with this huge bag seeds!
