toastie or toasted/grilled sandwich

A toastie, toasted/grilled sandwich is a hot sandwich prepared with cheese and a variety of other fillings. Examples include grilled cheese, hot ham and cheese, and tuna melt.
A melt sandwich or toasted sandwich (also toastie) is a type of hot sandwich (sealed in the case of a toastie or unsealed in the case of a hot sandwich) containing bread, cheese and/or some type of additional filling such as meat or vegetables. The sandwich is then heated until the cheese is melted. It may be served as an open face sandwich or a closed face one (sealed or unsealed).
