Apple Hot Honey (Cocktail)
Makes 1 delicious drink
Ingredients
6 oz (approx) proper apple cider/unfiltered juice*
1 1/2 oz honey-flavored bourbon (I used Wild Turkey American Honey)
1/2 oz cinnamon schnapps
Apple slices, for garnish
Ice
Directions
Fill a highball glass 3/4 full with ice cubes. Next, pour in the bourbon, the schnapps, and then top off with the cider/juice. Give it a little stir with a straw or cocktail spoon. Finally, garnish with the apple slices, if desired, and serve.
Recipe is my own, though I’m sure I’m not the first to think of it.
NOTE: This recipe is meant to be served in a highball or similar glass, but it can just as easily be mixed in a cocktail shaker and strained into a coupe, or even prepared as a hot toddy, by heating the cider first (along with your favorite mulling additions), then adding the alcohols to your mug just before serving.
*By cider, I’m referencing the non-alcoholic, non-fizzy juice from pressed raw apples, not the stuff labeled “apple juice” from the fruit juice aisle, and definitely not hard cider, like Angry Orchard, Bulmers, or Woodpecker. That’s right out.
