I recently went to a party at my close friend's house. She had made this delicious bacon cheddar dip/spread that she served on mini bagel bites as appetizers. It was so yummy! I just HAD to get here recipe!
Here it is:
Ingredients:
8 oz. softened cream cheese
5-6 strips of bacon chopped into pieces (Substitute: you can use real bacon bites)
1 cup sharp shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup light mayo
1/4 teaspoon dill weed
1 package of bagel mini bites
Directions:
Fry the bacon until it is crispy.
In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mayo and dill weed.
Add half of the bacon and mix.
Place the spread on toasted bagels and then sprinkle the bacon on top.
Serve and enjoy!
I'm telling you, these things are amazing! I love love love them! What are some of your favorite appetizers?

Those do sound delicious. I suppose they would also be good on some bagel chips as well. I often serve bagel chips with heavier dips such as spinach and artichoke dip, since they are much sturdier and can hold up to the dip without breaking.

Also, if you used dried dill on this recipe, I would suggest trying out fresh dill - its got a much more pronounced flavor which really brightens up the recipes it is in. The dried is generally much weaker in taste.

I suppose the whipped cream cheese might also make this recipe a little easier to put together since it mixes easier.
