My caregiver picked up a different beef than I wanted. I looked online and it looks like beef bottom round is good for beef jerky. Would it work for pepper steak in the slow cooker? What else can I do with it?

Thanks in advance.

I made pepper steak the other day and wanted to comment on the beef bottom round. I seasoned it and browned it in a pan like usual and then put it in the Crock-pot with the other ingredients. It cooked fast (three hours on low) because it was so thinly sliced. It was okay, but not something I would buy again.

Bottom round is a very lean cut from a hard working muscle. It is tough. It should have been a lot cheaper than that. I agree that is not something you would want to buy again.
