Ingredients
1 x 1.5kg whole chicken (washed and patted dry)
1 can beer
1 and 1/2 tbsp baharat spice powder
2 tbsp olive oil
Method
Open beer and pour 1/3 beer in to a heavy base roasting dish.
Place open can in middle of dish.
With breasts facing forward, place cavity of chicken over can and gently push down.
Move legs in to a position slightly forward to form a tripod wit can to hold chicken upright.
Brush olive oil all over chicken, then rub in spice mix all over.
Nb...I use baharat but substitute your favourite rub if you prefer.
Preheat oven to 180 degree celsius, then roast chicken (in upright position) for approximately 75 minutes, or until cooked.
