Best Way if Cooking Shin Beef

I bought some shin beef from the butcher's the other day. It is not a cut of beef I have really cooked before. As far as I knew, it was best slow cooked. After twelve hours in the slow cooker, it finally started to tenderise. Is there a better way of cooking it and what are the best dishes to use it in?
 
my teenage boys love shin slow cooked and shredded and bound in bbq style sauce,for wraps
also i salt shin of beef down for salt beef
