Ingredients:
  • 400 g beef (entrecote or any good quality steak)
  • 2 onion (juice)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped parsley to garnish
Instructions:
  1. Cut the beef into thin strips, slightly thick juliennes
  2. Grate the onions and squeeze out the juice into a bowl
  3. Add the milk, 1 tbsp olive oil and mix the marinade
  4. Add the julienne beef into the bowl and let it rest in the marinade for 2 hours
  5. Cut the potatoes into matchstick size strips and transfer into a bowl with cold water
  6. For the sauce, grate the tomatoes and heat up olive oil in a pan and start cooking
  7. Add the tomato paste and ½ tsp salt and let it simmer and thicken, then set aside
  8. Once the marinated beef is ready, remove from the fridge
  9. Mince the garlic and mix with the yogurt with ½ tsp salt and set aside
  10. Heat up enough oil in a pan and start frying the drained potatoes in batches
  11. Once they are golden, transfer to a paper towel
  12. Start cooking the beef in a very hot pan and gently mix to cook evenly
  13. Add the butter, the paprika powder, thyme and salt to taste
  14. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes
  15. Layer the fried potato sticks on a plate
  16. Pour and layer the garlic yogurt on top and pour some of the sauce over the yogurt
  17. Place the beef on top and pour more sauce over the beef
  18. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.
