It's just hard imagining a life without cabbage as this is something i consume almost everyday. I prepare cabbage soup about 5 days out of the week and there are some days when i'll use it to make a raw vegetable salad...cabbage soup as being very effective when it comes to me losing excess weight and so i continue having it to maintain my desired weight...and it's very tasty and filling.

l agree that it's a very veratile vegetable and l enjoy eating different types of cabbage. Crisp cabbage l eat raw in salad and green leafy cabbage is great in soups, stews, curries and rice dishes.

ln the summer l can pick leaves of sea kale, which grows wild on a nearby beach. When those leaves are cooked they turn dark green and taste just like cabbage.

I loathe cabbage. Even the smell is horrible. Sorry to disagree with you, but it brings back memories of childhood. Yuck boiling cabbage. Oh and school. They must have boiled it for hours. Lol.

Days more likely... The smell of the school dining hall was awful wasn't it... That and the kidney smell.... :yuck:

I love cabbage though I do not eat it every day. I love how it tastes in beef stews though. I am not a fan of raw cabbage though, It it rather tough I think and i just prefer it softer. Steaming it is pretty easy and effective way to cook it with out having to worry about the nutrients running out into the water.

I would not say that cabbage is my favorite vegetable. However, I do like it when it is done up in a coleslaw. I would not eat it raw by itself though. The only other way I would eat cabbage is when it is steamed along with other vegetables. I understand that broccoli belongs to the cabbage family, but I prefer to go with broccoli and tend to cook this on a more regular basis than cabbage.

I didn't have school dinners so was spared that. I didn't like it as a child but as I get older I am enjoying it more especially raw.

I think even hearing the mention of cabbage can scar you after school dinners. I don't eat if often, but my parents have a Chinese cabbage which is slightly different and tastes better than the green cabbage.

I eat cabbage a lot myself. It blends well with other foods, but for some reason I can't get my son to eat it. The only time he eat it is if I mix it with some noodles, and he still tries to pick out the cabbage.
