Well, this was on my Christmas list but I received it for my birthday today. I've never used one before - so any tips, tricks or recipes appreciated:

You've got it pointing the wrong way. Otherwise, you can't go wrong , it's a pretty intuitive tool - you will know when things start to burn!

This type of lamp gives a very directional and very high heat flame - ideal with a bit of care [I actually use something very similar for silver soldering tiny model engineering items] ours never made it to the kitchen. The only tip I can give is always remember to keep the flame moving - a moments inattention and you will burn a black hole in almost anything and be careful sealing meat - the fat :eek:

I had one! I plan to get another one. Great for caramelizing the sugar on top of crème brulea!! :wink:
