Ingredients
2 tbsp. unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small yellow onion, minced
1 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 1⁄2 cups ketchup
1⁄3 cup packed brown sugar
1⁄4 cup brewed coffee
2 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. ground black pepper
1⁄2 tsp. ground coriander
1⁄4 tsp. cayenne


Instruction

Melt butter in a 4-qt. saucepan over medium-high heat.
Add garlic and onions; cook until soft, 4–6 minutes.
Stir in chocolate, ketchup, sugar, coffee, honey, vinegar, cocoa, Worcestershire, mustard, chili powder, salt, pepper, coriander, and cayenne; cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 3 minutes.
Use right away or store refrigerated in an airtight container up to 1 week.

I'm fairly new these creative and what I would call high end recipes lol. I've never cooked with "brewed coffee" before. I'm very intrigued by this.

Not sure if you were being tongue in cheek - but this couldn't really be described as a high end recipe - delicious as it may be. As is happens there was a recent challenge on another forum for cooking with coffee (which I won! :smug::laugh:). The recipe which won was this scallop recipe. It doesn't use brewed coffee but coffee beans. There is another savoury recipe I made which does use brewed coffee see photo here.
 
I wasn't being tongue in cheek. Remember. I'm probably the lowest possible amateur cook on this site. I'm learning new stuff on a daily basis.

Believe me you are not the most amateur cook I've come across in my time here. In fact, I don't see any evidence of amateurism! Its all about learning and nobody ever learns everything there is to know. Most high-end chefs (or almost any chefs) specialise in particular types of cooking and have huge knowledge gaps when it comes to cuisine outside there training or experience.

Lately, due to our new US members I've learned a lot about good American cooking - something that I know very little about. I also set myself personal challenges all the time to try new techniques - and the Cookalong has been great from that POV. I'd never made a Chinese dumpling in my life until a few weeks ago!
