Does anyone buy ready cooked meals, delivered to their homes? I'm not talking Deliveroo, Just Eats, Uber Food delivered fast food, but decent restaurant quality food, made and delivered by an independent. I only ask because I read a local newspaper article last week that extolled the virtue such a service. The operator used to run a tapas bar that was voted best restaurant in Birmingham two years ago - quite an achievement in a city that boasts five Michelin stars. She has now moved to a nearby town, and is offering a home delivery service. We have ordered an Italian meal for delivery this Sunday (I've lost the menu, sorry) and a French meal for delivery next Sunday. The meals are cooked, chilled and will keep to be re-heated later. This is the French menu ordered for next week:

After finding out how much the delivery services charge the restaurants, we now only do pickup.

We do have personal chefs who'll make food for you, but they don't really structure it like this, like a menu for one meal. Instead, they'll make a week's worth of meals that you can heat and eat throughout the week.

One of our friends who is a very good cook, orders premade meals, but only because she works like 60 hrs a week. She loves them.

On the face of it it seems good value for money, about the same as eating out at a mid level restaurant.
