Do you iron things?

? You actually iron things? I don't even own an iron...

Sometimes when I forget to use the ironing setting on the washing machine, I usually have to clear off the ironing board for those events 😂

I also enjoy ironing a couple of items every now n then because it’s generally an outfit I love enough to bother ironing and that means I’m feeling good enough to bother with myself.
I even fork out for scented ironing water, just the smell of it makes me feel like I’m being nice to myself!

We don't do ironing either, although my squirrel wife has a collection of 6 irons lurking in the cupboard

Ironing is one of the chores I hated doing, so I don't. We do own an iron, but my daughter irons her clothes. I bought a steamer, to steam my shirts and other items that need to look polished.

Frequency of use? Once every 2,3 months or so...my clothes are normally not that demanding on the ironing front. I love non iron button downs, jeans, tights...most of my dresses are non iron...if I hang them well to dry, they are fine...
Sheets and towels, no, no ironing.
😄so I totally understand.

The only thing our iron has been used for in years is to iron creases out of the fabric I use to make my mini doll's clothes. In fact, I told Craig that the 1 button down shirt he wears occassionally that is dirty and needs to be washed should be shook out well and hung on a hanger to dry. It won't take long if it's outside since it's so hot here.

I have two irons, one normal sized one and one mini for doing tight corners or sewing. I have a sleeve board, a tailors ham and seam roll. I find them all very useful.

I don’t mind the boomers and gen z (my generation) uniform of jeans and a t-shirt but I love textiles so it’s not for me.
I don’t own a pair of jeans.
If I see something I like I’d consider how much ironing it would take and then decide whether I like it enough to bother.

This was the last thing I bought that would take a decent amount of ironing because despite the pic theres reams of fabric in it, it has gathered sleeves and is made from a type of fabric that needs ironing back into shape after laundering.

Haven’t worn it since last September but I thoroughly enjoyed every moment swishing about with a cocktail in my hand on a flight of fancy 😆

I wore it on holiday last year and a woman working in airport security stepped away from her post to whisper in my ear “you look gorgeous” I know she meant the dress not me but some things are worth getting an iron out for.

What a stunning dress! Love the colour and the balloon sleeves, and the belt in particular.

A former high school class set of friends is meeting up for an evening drink on Sat/Sun, I don't think I should get too fancied up.

ALthough it's in my city, I don't have to commute, yeeey😄😅

Commuting slowly but surely drew the desire to dress up out of my entire being. I hope it can come back some day.

I enjoy dressing up for the opera or a concert. Although that is pretty rare. This school year, thrice. Oh last year was better , 6 times, I had an abonnement/yearly subscription.

Love fashion. As a teenager I used to design(draw) dresses. Nothing professional about the level of it😆😁, but I still love watching fashion shows and visiting fabric stores.

My Grandma was very much into sewing, she had tons of fabric kept, and brainstormed ideas...she was very elegant, very ladylike, in her younger/mature years, later she gave up on fashion when she aged and her health deteriorated...

Nothing wrong with having go to no thought items to sling on for day to day wear.
Also good to grab the bits of joy where you can and wear something nice.

Cleaning and ironing, banking, food order delivery, cook lunch, paperwork.
Not sure if I can take the excitement 😆

My wife and I share the chores, yardwork, ect....There are a few things that she always does because she likes it her way. Mostly, if something needs done. One of us will do it.

As for ironing. I am the only one that does that. I think that was instilled in me from my Air Force days. I iron my work uniforms and all of my casual business attire.

I actually enjoy ironing. I turn on some Amon Amarth, Slipnot, slayer, ect....and go to town! lol
