It's made of wood and is quite old. It has been in my wife's family for a long time, but we have no idea what it is.
Could be a galette/crepe flipper I suppose. I have one that is similar just a little narrower and rounded at the tip rather than pointed.

It's a bit too thick for that, probably 12mm in the middle, with tapering edges like a sword.
Are you sure its a kitchen utensil?
Might it be a letter opener? Maybe too big for that.

I think it could be what we call “paletta servi fetta per torte”, in English it might be “serve cake slice”
