Lately I've been having both a craving for and interest in root vegetables. Potatoes, carrots, radishes, yams, taro, turnips... ginger doesn't count, I think, because I've always liked ginger, I put it in everything.

Do you like tubers, rhizomes, whatever you prefer to call it?

What's you're favorite? Any particular recipes?

Carrots and radishes by far and horseradish. I am not a fan of beets nor sweet potatoes, yams, etc. I worked on an organic farm and the carrots were close to orgasmic!

I like carrots any time and I cook parsnips in winter. Parnsips are healthier and tastier than potatoes. I like sweet potatoes too.

I enjoy eating radishes and beetroot in salads and cold dishes. I'm less fond of swedes and turnips but sometimes I may add some to casseroles, along with carrots and other types of vegetable.

Aside from the potato which is somewhat a staple root crop in most pantries, my next favorite is the purple yam or ube (pronounced as oo-be) as we call it in the Philippines. Ube is used in many Filipino desserts such as cakes, yams, jams, ice creams, candies, cookies, pies, and just about anything sweet. It can be a substitute for flour and sweet potatoes.

Regular carrots and potatoes are my favorites. I think they are great because they go well with almost anything, and I even like snacking on them solo if I'm in the right mood. I love potatoes the most because I enjoy it in many forms such as french fries, chips, baked, etc.

Hands down potatoes! I love everything with potatoes in it. Serve me with mashed potatoes, french fries, potato salads, and whathaveyou, then you're my best friend for life! Apart from that, it's just carrots and sweet potatoes. I do eat them, but not as much as potatoes.

Carrots, yams and jicama. I think jicama is a root vegetable. It really looks like one. I like to add it to salads or just eat it plain.

I love sweet potatoes and yams and I also love turnips a lot. I think they have a better flavor than potatoes. I am actually quite tired of potatoes still. I grew up eating them literally every night so now I don't want any at all. I think the only root veggie I did not care for was the rutabaga, but I am not sure if I just ended up with a bad one,

Potatoes are the best and fun to pick. My parents grow them and they are easy to grow and are so versatile. I always have some potato served at most meals, mash, fried, baked or in a salad. Sweet potatoes are good too, but not as versatile even though they maybe healthier.

cassava is the best especially here in uganda,we have plenty of it.i dice the cassava and make a mixture of it with beans.it is really nice when you spice it up too.

Carrots are my favorite, I like yams as well. I haven't had turnips but I do want to try it out one day.
