In order to offer a more healthy option of fries to the public, Burger King (BK) created Satisfries. They are lower in calories/fats than their regular fries.

Has anyone tried Satisfries?

If so, are they delicious or disgusting?

I never tried them, it's been over 4 years since I ate at BK's, and It's gonna take more than Satis Fries to pull me in. It's good to see them take a few baby steps toward healthy eating, but they need to think bigger then just fries.

I really liked these, and it's a shame they took them off the menu (I'm pretty sure they did, haven't been there in a while though). I don't think the backlash over them was fair at all, in fact I would consider it counter productive since they really were apparently lower in fat. To a lesser extent I will say that Burger King simply did not market them properly. According to their web site and official statements, all they did was lighten the coating on the fries to make them absorb less oil during the cooking process, as well as making the fries thicker which meant less surface area being exposed to the oil and soaking it in.

Admittedly when I first heard of these I thought they were either going to be baked fries or fries cooked in some oil substitute like Olestra - in reality they were neither. They basically tasted identical to their existing fries, but were just thicker and a little lower in fat. I would have liked to see these become their regular fries, to be honest.

Okay, so I must admit that when they were giving out free Satisfries I was first in line with my family. I was super excited to finally have fries guilt free. We did enjoy them and even went back to get them more and more. At first they are not Chick - Fila fries but they are really good.

I don't know what the official reason for taking them off the market was, but i know several people who had them my son included who got horrific diarrhea after eating them. It was a nice attempt but maybe they needed some more research and testing first.

I recall trying them but not because I was really interested but because they were free. They were...okay? It's not something that made me want more & it was definitely not something that encouraged me to go back to Burger King. I'm just a sucker for free things.
