Hamburgers are quintessentially American, yet most people are disappointed by the blandness of the hamburgers served up by the main burger chains. Some years ago, my husband was travelling on business in America, and the person next to him on the plane said that for a real hamburger, he needed to go home with an American to taste 'Mom's special hamburgers.'
Unfortunately, he never found time to do that. Have you ever tasted an all-American hamburger, served up by Mom? Or do you have a great hamburger recipe to share?
I found this article about the history of the hamburger. It makes for interesting reading - food for thought, you could say!
