I was wondering if it was safe to eat seafood from Japan yet due to the radioactive waste in the water after the nuclear incident several years ago? You never hear about it anymore in the news.
I saw some scallops on sale that are from Japan. I didn't buy them but it got me thinking, which is why I posted. Fish from Japan is rarely seen in USA markets and I've never seen any seafood imported from Japan before until I saw the scallops. I know that China banned Japanese seafood. If you've got the type of mind that likes dry stats then this is what I'd use as a guide. It uses respected information sources (listed in the references) and doesn't appear to jump to too many conclusions.

If your not a stats person then the general answer seems to be yes it's ok to eat it.
True, but I think that was because of a political disagreement or something.I know that China banned Japanese seafood.
Recent measurements show that radiation levels in most seafood are significantly below safety limits. Japan has also implemented strict monitoring and testing systems, but it’s still wise to be cautious.I was wondering if it was safe to eat seafood from Japan yet due to the radioactive waste in the water after the nuclear incident several years ago? If there's one country in the entire world that I admire for their meticulous standards of hygiene and cleanliness, it's Japan.Japan has also implemented strict monitoring and testing systems, but it’s still wise to be cautious.
I’d half go along with that, only half because eating things like raw chicken (Torisashi) never seems like a good ideaIf there's one country in the entire world that I admire for their meticulous standards of hygiene and cleanliness, it's Japan.
I wouldn't hesitate for a minute buying foodstuffs from Japan.
