My New Induction Wok

I have not had a wok, thus far. I have been using a large fry pan as a wok.

So I finally sprang for one.

It's a GReblon Cook Lover Serendipity Series German Weilburger Induction Wok with Lid and Spatula.

This a very nice wok for a first time wok. I like, just looking at it. And it works on stove top, induction top and glass top burners.

As you may imagine, woks are very popular in my neck of the woods. However, 15 years ago it was very rare to find a wok with a lid. A lid is very handy for most of my wok cooking.

I use carbon steel woks. My original that I bought in China Town in Toronto in the 80's is still going strong.

Here's mine! I wanted the steamer insert & the glass lid so that I can make peking ravs. I believe that it does the job of a bamboo steamer!

That was my second choice, but it lost out to the one I got.

I didn't realize how big this thing was until it came! A monster!! I bought 2 red Asian spatulas to help keep from scratching the coating off.

Yeah, the one I got is huge too.

I found this Cuzimate multi size wok/pan lid today. Glass and silicon. Fits 260, 280 and 300 mm diameter.

Mine came with a lid. Not like yours, but any port in the storm, sailor, will do!!
