Ok…what’s everyone planning for their meals and such New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day?

New Year’s Eve will be our standard cheese fondue, with bread and sausages for dipping.

New Year’s Day will be:
Nothing in particular planned for breakfast - probably apple fritters, because I saw two in the freezer yesterday.

Cheese & crackers, pickles & olives, that sort of thing for snacking.

Pork & sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, spiced orange beets, and crusty rolls for our main meal.

Pumpkin pie (by request) for dessert.

Punch, beer, and champagne for drinks. Probably boozy coffee with that pie.

What’s on your menu?

New Year's Eve will be crabmeat stuffed mushrooms with 1/2 lb. lobster tails and probably risotto and spinach or asparagus, along with champagne. NYD will be black-eyed peas, cornbread, mustard greens, and pork roast.
Are you sure? It’s just my invite hasn’t arrived yet 🤷‍♀️

For the first time in forever Mr SSOAP and I will be by ourselves for New Year’s Day.
I can’t quite believe it but am so, so grateful to have a peaceful one as Mr SSOAP has been told no drinkies for two days before his surgery on the 2nd Jan. I’m thinking of going unconventional (for the UK) and having wings and fries, maybe.

I have no real ideas yet, it's just me and the husband. I think it will be a snack based meal again, but no ideas yet. I do think devilled eggs will feature once again, as my husband can't get enough of them. Might go a bit tapas based or sushi..
I like the sound of that but I don’t have the enthusiasm to do it! 😂
