Orange Teriyaki Sauce:
Ingredients:
1) Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
2) Brown sugar - 3 tblspns.
3) Honey - 2 tspns.
4) Orange juice - 1/8 cup
5) Garlic, crushed - 2 tblspns.
NOTE: If crushed garlic is not available, crush 4 to 6 cloves.
6) Ginger, crushed - 2 tspns.
7) Mirin or sake - 1/16 cup
8) Peanut oil - 2 tspns.
9) Corn starch (or wheat flour) - 1 to 2 tblspns.
10) Water - as desired
NOTE: Starch and water do little for flavoring the teriyaki sauce, but instead, control thickness. If you want a thick marinade teriyaki sauce, use less water. If you want a thinner dipping sauce, use more water.
NOTE: Makes about 1/2 cup of sauce. Double ingredients for more.
