How much do you trust the 'best' product reviews on the web?

Do you take people's personal ratings and reviews seriously?

Related to food items? As guidelines perhaps.
Same as non food items, can be useful.
But it can be 'constructed' or usef as advertising, so I try keeping some perspective and distance.
