Real Maple Syrup

That’s a crime against humanity, according to MrsT.
I can’t quite believe it.
But as the Brit supermarket sells 4 different types and the shelf space is very restricted it must be wanted by quite a few people. Even if they are only ex-pats 😂

Wonder what they serve with their pancakes in McDonald’s?

I would it’s the notorious “pancake syrup,” as medtran49 says, which is mainly corn syrup and artificial maple flavoring. 😟
I’ve had a look and can’t find pancakes on their menu at all.
The pancake mix they they have in the supermarkets has a chocolate squeezy syrup. It’s not even close to imitating Maple Syrup.

McD’s syrup (at least in the US):

*No maples were harmed in the creation of our syrup.

Mmmmm all this syrup talk…it’s making me want to wave the flag while dressed as a mountie riding a moose atop a zamboni!

Pancake syrup is an abomination. The real stuff is where it’s at. I recently sampled (and then immediately purchased large quantities) syrup that’s been aged in ex-bourbon casks. If you ever get a chance to buy that stuff, please do. It’s simply divine.

I use honey on mine. I don't like maple much.

Funny because I don’t like honey 😂
I like it as an ingredient and I don’t mind acacia honey but the others I’m not fond of and wouldn’t want it as a pronounced flavour.

I want the maple syrup for coffee. Apparently maple syrup works well as a coffee syrup 🤷‍♀️

Do you know you can’t buy maple syrup in a supermarket where I am in Spain?
My first reaction might be "Do you know you can't buy Cheddar cheese in Caracas?" but that would be very mean
Maple syrup is very much Canadian/American, so it's not really a surprise. the Spanish don't do pancakes, especially those delicious, fat, fluffy pancakes they make for breakfast in the USA. It's a very regional thing - although I will say we can buy "maple" syrup in Caracas, and it's the awful stuff, but my son loves it.
I once worked with a diplomat from Canada, who gave me some real maple syrup from his uncle's family business.
Unbelievably good.
