Copyright and the law regarding individual recipes posted online is unclear. It varies from country to country.
So CookingBites makes the following recommendations:

I'll keep the CookingBites policy simple and clear.
A few sites make it clear that they do not want you to copy their recipes. CookingBites.com requests that you honour their wishes. If contacted by them, we will remove recipes found to be in violation of their wishes.
Recipes published in books or other media (newspapers, magazines etc), are covered by different copyright laws
They are country specific and they can be author or publisher specific as well. Read the copyright section inside that particular media to familiarise yourself with it. If in doubt, assume that the above rules apply.
CookingBites does not allow photographs of any part of a recipe from any publication.

- Titles can be copied. It can not be copyrighted.
- The description is subject to copyright laws, so rewrite it in your own words.
- The ingredients list can be copied. Again, it can not be copyrighted to the best of our knowledge.
- The method is subject to copyright laws, so must be rewritten in your own words.
- Photographs vary, but are usually subject to copyright laws, so use your own where possible, otherwise try copyright free images and credit accordingly.
