Yesterday marked the 28th anniversary of Stevie Ray Vaughan's tragic and early death.

I've listened to many blues and blues/rock guitarists over the last 50 years and I think Stevie Ray was up there in the top 2 or 3. A very technically gifted guitarist but also emotionally expressive.

Sadly missed....

He was one of the few guitarists that I would have put in the same company as Jimi Hendrix. The way he died - in a helicopter crash at the height of his career, too soon at age 35 - made the loss even more tragic, despite it being a Rock Legend way to go out.
