Recipe Stir Fried Pork with Honey

Ingredients

  • 2 handfuls egg noodles (bai mee yok)
  • 2 teaspoons cornflour
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
  • 250 g pork loin, cut into 30 mm pieces
  • 2 teaspoons pureed ginger
  • 2 teaspoons pureed garlic
  • 1 green capsicum, deseeded and sliced
  • 100 g snow peas or garden peas
  • 1 teaspoon sesame, seed

Method
  • Bring a pan of salted water to the boil and cook the noodles following pack instructions.
  • Meanwhile, mix the cornflour with 1 tbsp water, then stir in the soy sauce and honey, and set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a wok over a high heat. Add the pork and cook for 3 or 4 mins until browned all over. Add the ginger, garlic, capsicum and peas, and cook for a further 2 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat, then add the soy and honey mixture, stirring and cooking until the sauce bubbles and thickens.
  • Distribute drained noodles into two dishes and add the pork mixture over the top.
  • Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the top.

Lovely sticky glossy looking pork. Are those noodles green? What happened to the snow peas...

Yes, the noodles are green - I am given to understand that the colouring is from spinach.

The images are from two different occasions. One time I used snow peas, next time garden peas (or the other way around).
