Less that 3 months ago, this chook was on deaths door. The vet thought she would die. Today you can't tell at all. She was too weak to stand and literally just skin and bones. I hand raised her so it meant she would eat if I told her to and that was the only reason she survived. Boy does she look good now! She's 5½ years old now.

The redder the wattle and comb, the healthier the chook. This is as red as it gets. She was a pale purple with black tips 3 months ago.

She and I have great conversations, but last night I got a telling off from her for not taking the washing in before 5pm. Boy did she complain loudly and constantly about that from underneath the lemon tree.
