Most mom and pop eateries in Hawaii will have this on its menu. It's the same as the japanese counter part but hawaii has its variation by adding some kind of curry drench all over it to give it a different flare. Some just mix A1 sauce and ketchup. Be creative and add some spice to it.
Ingredients:
2 lb chicken breasts
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup flour
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups panko
1 quart salad oil for frying
1/3 cup A-1 Sauce
2 teaspoons catsup
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
Dash pepper
Dash hot pepper sauce
Procedure:
Remove skin and bones from chicken breasts; sprinkle chicken with salt. Dredge in flour, dip in eggs, and coat with panko. Heat oil in electric skillet to 375 degrees F. Fry chicken until golden brown; drain on absorbent paper. Combine remaining ingredients. Serve with chicken. Makes 6 servings.
