Ok. Let's be honest. Most of us are well past filling our abodes with red roses and hearts, lighting those special aphrodisiac candles, preparing loads of oysters, seafood, caviar, etc. in the vague hope of... BUT, are you planning anything to encourage "concupiscence" on the 14th?
I've been asked to do a Street Food course for 10 people that evening. Everyone gets a red/pinkish red apron and we're going to have a lot of fun!
What about you? Did you give that up in the 1990s?

Funny you bring this topic up karadekoolaid I was just watching on streaming media about Galentine's Day Celebrations.
Myself, I already have the makings for gift bags to go out to all of my loved ones.

My wife is a bakery manager. She has hated everything about Valentines day for the last 30 years! I am blesses!

I give him points for the bare faced cheek of it but otherwise I’m not falling for all that blarney

Well that one that drives me bonkers is "Sweetest Day" which was probably invented in the 1970s and was created by retailers for the sole purposed of fleecing the masses of their hard-earned money.

Edited to add that I just read up on it and it was created in 1922. In Cleveland (about 45 minutes from here). Apparently it never really took off in other states beyond the midwest and Arizona. We don't celebrate it because it's a BS holiday.

It's just another way to get people to buy flowers, cards, candy, stuffed toys, steak dinners...it's a US retailer rip off of Valentine's Day but no saints involved.
