You know when you see a supermarket promotion and the product or product selection makes you wonder what on earth are they thinking?
Or some ill advised advertising makes you wince?

Well here’s a corker I saw last night.
Morrisons supermarket..

Well we have Lay's for sure, but most American's wouldn't realize that fromage is a French word for cheese.

That "American style" rootbeer brand looks very similar to A&W...

Ah I've given up on marketing a long time ago😆...rarely is there a good slogan or a funny video...I never feel motivated to buy anything upon campaigns...on the contrary...
And I always notice spelling or logic mistakes/unclear statements ( unless they are meant to be eyebrow lifting😃)...which just makes me sigh, Oh Gosh, no...which I also do in news websites etc, it's just so annoying, and it happens locally rather often, at least 1,2 x a week...and I am not reading online much...

I do get it, it's a job and an industry for many nowadays, but It's gotten out of control and sense honestly, at least to me.

Sorry😃

Agreed most of it's so transparent and badly done it just washes over me like it's not there!

Our grocery store flyers are no longer "sales". They are basically catalogues of some products they carry. Maybe they have two or three items on the front page that they have marked down. The rest of the pages are just the standard stuff that is always there.

The USA banner on Morrisons website is an old one. Plus they recently moved their website and now deliver ( depending on where you live) direct from stores. They obviously haven't sorted out the website properly...

No they haven't but supermarkets in general don't do a good job upgrading their websites.

The American banner does say "from 5th August"
I suppose old is relative.

My online delivery doesn't come from my local store (which is a large one) because the products I can order for delivery and the products that are click n collect are very different.
When I click n collect about a 1/4 to 1/3 is substituted or missing. When I order online for delivery it pretty much all always turns up as ordered.

Maybe they've done what Ocado have done and have "local" warehouses.
The ocado one is in Bristol.

Next time I have a Morrison's delivery I'll ask.
I know Ocado wanted them gone from their warehouses due to lack of space.
