Why can't it be microwaved?

You can cook salmon in the microwave as I learnt from a girl that makes YouTube cooking videos.

But yet, my local supermarket states their salmon side can't be microwaved. Why?

I would slice it up into portions and cook the portion I wanted. Freeze the other portions.

I don't think a microwave would cook it evenly. The market doesn't want you to have a bad experience with their product and the you tuber doesn't mind the following. All with a grain of salt!

I would cut a section out a bit wider than it is thick, like a strip, and try it. Shape is going to matter so doing the whole thing *probably* won't work well.

Let us know!

I used to microwave blocks of hake from frozen all the time when I was a poor student and never had any problems with it causing upset stomach etc
But it really isn’t a good way to cook fish because the outer edges are always overcooked before the thicker inner parts are cooked.

I wouldn’t dream of nuking fish now other than to defrost haddock for poaching and even then I’m reluctant.
