You can't see it in my pictures, but Craig and I generally eat on couch and chair in front of the TV. More often than not, Strider is usually just out of camera range, or gets cropped out, hoping that my plate is for him.
My ex-wife liked to eat that way. When we bought a new house, I made sure the kitchen table would be right next to the family room, and arranged the family room so that the TV would be clearly visible from her side of the kitchen table.
As for the dogs, when our nieces came for weekends (while their mom and dad had some alone time), we put them in the antique high-chairs that I restored, and the dogs sat right there, and cleaned the floor of any and all messes made by the nieces.
