dinner

Dinner usually refers to what is in many Western cultures the largest and most formal meal of the day, which some Westerners eat in the midday. Historically, the largest meal used to be eaten around midday, and called dinner. In Western cultures, especially among the elite, it gradually migrated to later in the day over the 16th to 19th centuries. However, the word "dinner" can have different meanings depending on culture, and may mean a meal of any size eaten at any time of day. In particular, it is still sometimes used for a meal at noon or in the early afternoon on special occasions, such as a Christmas dinner. In hot climates, people have always tended to eat the main meal in the evening, after the temperature has fallen.

I'm off on the 7th and will be able to get all the prep work done ahead of time. I'm going to keep a running list of ingredients in...

    Mother's Day Dinner

Does your family cook for you on Mother’s Day? My husband use to make barbecue ribs, chicken and hot dogs. My husband would cook so much that we had enough to freeze. We also had enough meat stored in the fridge that would last for days. That was a real Mother’s Day gift for me! :D:laugh::cool:

How did your Easter Dinner turn out?

I normally purchase my ham at Sam’s Club, but this time I got it from my local grocery store. I found a...

    Do you like Manwich?

Okay, so today I cooked up some Manwich for my hubby (as per his request), and joined him in eating one of these. After a couple of bites I could not stomach this any longer, it was too sweet and not quite flavorful at all. I felt like I was eating some amateur cooking. My husband really...

Do you cook turkey for Christmas dinner or a different bird?

In our house the Christmas "bird" is a large turkey crown (we don't have a big enough oven to accommodate a whole bird and all the potatoes and veg etc. so we get a crown from the butcher around the corner and cook it on the top shelf). Are you a turkey family or do you cook a different bird...
