That kind of dish exists in the Caribbean and Latin America, but without the cream sauce. In Puerto Rico & Venezuela, pollo guisado;(with a sauce); in Colombia, pollo sudado (literally, sweated); in Nicaragua, pollo tapado (with the lid on); in Perú and Chile, pollo estofado (stewed).
Basically, chicken, potatoes and/or carrots, tomato paste and seasonings.
