Christmas 2022

I seem to remember you expressing surprise that I wrap gift boxes as well…something tells me you’re wrapping-adverse and look for ways to get out of wrapping things. 🤔

Now…when I start wrapping gift bags, I might admit there’s a problem.

Yes, I am terrible at gift wrapping, which puts me in a bad mood, so I use gift boxes and gift bags. Also, being a tree-hugging commie liberal, gift boxes and bags are reusable, while gift wrap is not.

I didn't know all that -- except for the 32F = 0C. And, 200C does not equal 400F. I just checked, and 200C = 392F.😜 If it ever gets that hot, we'll be dead, so it won't matter.

Oddly the 200°C to 400F is what most conversion charts give for ovens...

Perhaps it's just me that spots patterns?

You wrap stocking stuffers? I thought that was the whole reason for Christmas stockings.

Errr, so do I. I love wrapping presents. It's like a jigsaw puzzle to wrap as many as possible from the least amount of paper, as neatly as possible... I am available to hire but you'll need to cover airfare and I don't do economy class. The bad back you see <needs to find an old crippled hunch back figure with walking stick>

I've noticed with oven temperatures that recipes round off the temperatures. 350F in an oven is roughly 180C. 200C is roughly 400F. Those are easy to remember, but if it is 57F in Dallas, I don't know off the top of my head what the is in Celsius.

When I make weather posts here, I put both F and C just to make it easy for everyone.

They had a small kiosk at my local mall last Christmas. Nothing like what they used to have at malls at Christmas. I was able to get Beef Sticks, which is what they called Beef Summer Sausage in the past. I wonder why they changed the name??? I did the stocking stuffing last year, and Hickory Farms Beef Sticks were in them.

They always called it summer sausage around here. I miss the actual Hickory Farms, and Swiss Colony stores. :( I remember going to one or both of those stores, plus the liquor store, and then to the Drive-In theater. We would have a little picnic and watch TWO movies! LOL

UMMM I knew people that would gently unwrap gifts. Then reuse the paper. Regifting wrapping paper? LOL

While my wife was stranded in Europe in 2020 (and I was stranded in Venezuela), I cleaned up some cupboards. I found three huge carrier bags full of gift bags. In another cupboard, the gift bags were about 2 ft thick on the shelves.
There is now only ONE bag of re-used gift bags, and that´s only because I couldn´t get rid of them all at Xmas. I could probably send TastyReuben a gift in a Christmas bag in April, but no-one else.
During 2020 I also eliminated about 3 tonnes of re-usable Christmas wrapping paper...
If I really have to use wrapping paper (which, like caseydog , sends me into a rage) I buy sheets of the absolute cheapest and hope it´s recyclable.
