Yes, I know it is a bit early but needed a bit of cheering up so we were in our local garden centre this morning to look at their display.

Those displays are beautiful! As for "early", I believe whatever it takes to keep your spirits up and brings happiness - go for it!

My 91 year old mother who is in a nursing home, informed me yesterday that she wants me to put her Christmas decor/lights up in her room this weekend as it brings her joy! And I shall oblige.

No, it’s right on time…lovely displays! I’m really looking forward to the gourmet food shops here setting up, and I’ve already been perusing the hampers from Harrod’s. I just have to trick convince MrsT to release the funds to buy one… :whistling:

I knew it wouldn't be long before you turned up on this thread 🤣

I've just had my mother asking me what my Christmas plans were.

2 years ago, boxing day storms washed away our road and flooded the garage.... and the hail stones piled high in the garden. 6km away was totally unaffected.

Last year Christmas day storms took out our power, brought down over +100 trees on the 1km stretch of road between ourself and our (late) neighbours releasing sheep from 4 properties out of their fields. We were the only people home that day, it also damaged the road, but not as badly as the previous year.

Personally, if I get through Christmas Eve I might just celebrate.

There will be no Xmas in this house until 15th December, or thereabouts. It's become a rather kitsch commercial frenzy, with balls and baubles, plastic penguins, polar bears and glitzy trees all over the place - completely overpriced, of course.
Additionally, the government declared there should be Xmas in October - a pathetic attempt at taking people's minds off the current situation.

Last year, DH & I made up two 'Secret Santa' gift bags for elders in our community and we plan on doing this again, maybe even three if I get my way
I saw this idea on FB and Pinterest and thought ...

How stinkin' adorable is this?
It's all from Dollar Tree and some of the components have several multiples, so I could make alot more in the future...
