JAS_OH1 , SandwichShortOfAPicnic and Barriehie suggested to maybe organise a meeting some day for those in the boards that are interested in it.
We can decide on dates and details through the subsequent polls, this is just to see if there's interest and to see where such a meeting should be held.
My personal vote would be France, as it's the country of Gourmands!

I've never been anywhere in Europe though I've always wanted to go. Italy is #1 on my list, however. My husband has family there so if I go anywhere it will be there, at least for the initial trip. Tis is a trip that would take extensive planning so maybe 2026 would work out.

I'd like to see most of Europe...not sure if that's in our budget though.

Italy would be my pick.
Spend too much trip time in france as it is and much as I love the place (or I wouldn't keep going) they do IMO have an attitude and require some work to warm them up.
When you ask for something they do seem to love to say 'Non' (although maybe that's just to tourists 😆)
It's amusing but can wear a bit thin.

Italy is a fantastic country for coeliacs. Like a number one top pick. They all understand it, take it seriously and everywhere I've been they had plenty of GF dishes 😋

I dated a guy from France when I was in college. He definitely had an attitude, especially since I beat him in chess (after the 5th time he refused to play with me anymore). We broke up shortly thereafter.

Attitude is okay. They'll have never seen one like mine. 🤣

Like in the parking lot and someone is driving like an a** and I tell them to get out of the car. They always leave... 🤷‍♂️ 👏

I won't put in a vote because I'm certain that I wouldn't come, but my dream has always been to go to a small town in Italy, rent a villa with everything in it that you would need for a month long stay... like VRBO in the US. (btw, I did find VRBO in Italy )
I'd look to go to the shops ever day and see what's fresh and lovely and cook at least one meal a day "at home".
The rest of the day, say while we're shopping, have a light lunch at a local café... cocktails and appetizers on the patio over looking:
a) a vineyard
b) the Ocean
c) the Lake
d) the city below
e) the open hillside
... there we could plan for the next days activities...
AHHHH - I can dream ...

I think the ideal situation would be a group of small non-attached villas that sleep 2-4 people, all on the same property but not too close together, LOL.

I had a Spanish boyfriend back in my mid teens. I beat him and his friends in a game of pool. He got mad because his friends teased him, even though they got beat too, and he pinched my behind really hard when they suggested another game. That was pretty much it for me. Full disclosure that none of them knew, my grandfather had a pool table in the basement and my cousins and I played for hours when there every 3 or 4 weeks.

I'd love to go back to Italy again, but travel is just not in the cards for us due to physical issues and also because I'd be too afraid to take Craig so far out of his comfort zone. Too worried he'd get disoriented and wander away or blow up if something went wrong since he has such a short fuse now.
