It's very similar to conch if you've ever had that.
Depends on the type of mushrooms. Some can get pretty pricy. Fresh porcini anyone? Even some of the others, morels and chantarelles (sp?)

The Florida/Caribbean lobster are also known as crayfish. @rascal, commercial abalone harvesting in Oz is a very dangerous activity. Is that true in NZ? The one shellfish I've always wanted to try are langoustines. I've got to call Restaurant Depot to see if they are carrying live crawfish yet.
I would recommend anyone to try kipper with chips, sometimes with vinegar too.
Well, yeah you're right it's pretty fat Let me rephrase "Try at least once in a while" that should be better.I love kippers but I'm not sure with chips (too much fat?). I particularly like kippers for breakfast with tomato sauce.
