Now that green beer and soda bread days are behind us, we can look to upcoming days of ham and lamb and eggs…Easter!

Post your Easter plans here, food or otherwise, if you have any. MrsT and I (surprise surprise) don’t celebrate the religious aspect of it, but we do like to have a nice little meal on the day (maybe we’ll extend it to the whole weekend, since it kicks off with Good Friday).

Nothing even remotely planned yet for us, but I’m already thinking an afternoon tea is a strong possibility, along with some old favorites, like some nice ham slices and scalloped potatoes and deviled eggs (funny we have deviled eggs on Jesus’ second birthday… 🤔 ) and a nice white cake…off to search Easter recipes!

I just googled “Easter afternoon tea ideas,” and thank god for AI, because I would have never thought of “…consider making Easter-themed mini sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, and Easter-themed cakes and pastries…”

Ya don’t say?…Easter-themed sandwiches, cakes, and pastries for my Easter-themed afternoon tea…brilliant! Why didn’t I think of that?!?! 🐇🥚

Booked a flight to Spain. Will be leaving boys to their own devices for the first time at Easter.
I’d like to say they’re disappointed but it sounds like they’ve invited friends here to party destroy the house. Heyho!!

Easter in Spain is quite different to here. It’s a huge religious festival and the whole chocolate easter egg thing is almost non-existent. Will probably buy a shoulder of lamb and do a nice roast regardless.

I more often than not do a curry flavoured lamb roast. Slow cooked lamb swimming in a bath of curry spices) which then turns into a lovely gravy), spicy spiked roast potatoes and all the veg with various Indo-Asian spices.A bit of twist but well loved.

I’ll miss rolling out my Peter Rabbit table cloth and watching the boys eat chocolate for breakfast though.

Hmm, Easter is before all the medical stuff. I might have to start thinking about it. Croissants will defintely be on the menu, as they're unlikely to be on my diet anytime after April.

Will also do some deviled eggs, but I'll think of more. Am going to look for some ideas now.

One of those bread bunnies holding an egg :)
I always loved them
I had to google it "paashaasbrood"
Found nice ones here (also an easter chicken) Paasbroodjes met ei maken met je kinderen - unicorns & fairytales
