Electric Carving Knife

I have just ordered my Electric Knife, the Cuisinart CEK-41 Kit. I wanted just the CEK-30 Knife, but they were out of stock at the places I looked for it, or wanted almost double the price. For example, Home Depot had it out of stock for $29.99 USD. Others had for over $44. So I got the CEK-41 from Home Depot for $49.99 with free shipping.

It pays to shop around. BTW: Cuisinart was out of stock on these knives.

Like fashion, they will come back around "new and improved" at some point.

my observations on making shredded bread . . .
many "bread knives" are rather short
some are under the impression anything serrated is a bread knife....
result: not slicing - more sawing - messy, very messy....

a longer bread knife allows for a long continuous cutting stroke - on especially wide/long/round loaves, reposition and take another sweeping stroke.

this is a Wuesthof #4517 - hard to find at retail, but does a super job:

Cuisinart has discontinued their Cordless Electric Knives. Makes me wonder.

Not surprised at all.
