Similar to above but no sugar. Its the acid which turns the red onion so pink so no need for sugar unless you want it.

What do you add to them? For me, it's sugar, salt, peppers, apple vinegar, and turmeric. I don't think I make quite that much, but it's still quite a lot, and I'm really the only one eating them. I just made some last night, with red onions...the color is a spectacular sunset pattern, which I think will probably fade as it continues to settle in the jar.My curried pickle onions are very popular among our friends and family. I make between 30 to40 kgs a year.
