My sister was able to apply for decree absolut today. She's so happy/relieved. It will soon all be over. That is such good news after our news yesterday (pretty devastating and not for this thread).

I have the house to myself for most of this weekend! (Including this evening).
I’m going to rent a film, make myself my favorite snacks and crack open a bottle of blood orange gin.
I’m also making the most of having nobody under my feet so making chutney and baking up a storm.

She's been with me for nearly 30 years, she deserves a couple of days rest.
That's how we are. A few weeks ago, the wife was out of town on her own at a work conference, and I had all kinds of fun lined up (mainly pizza and old movies), then she had her medical emergency and I had to go get her, so that killed that weekend.
This week coming up, she was supposed to be in the Dominican Republic for another work thing, for the whole week, so I took the week off as well, but she had to cancel that, so all that pizza and movie-watching...POOF!
, along with her gallivanting around with her fellow travel agent folks.
