If you children are through bickering, can we get back to Mother's Day?
Sunday of last week my 92-year-old Mother returned from a train trip to Washington D. C. It was a bucket list trip. She loved every minute and said she is ready to go again.
Yesterday was Mother's Day in the U.S. Baby Brother prepared a feast. Beef tenderloin cut 1 3/4" thick, a simple seasoning of olive oil, salt and pepper, Smoked with oak low and slow. When it reached medium rare temperature Brother took it out of the smoker and reverse seared the loin chops.
He served spring greens, spinach and grape tomato salad with his homemade vinegarette, seared summer squash and zucchini, sauteed mushrooms and simple boiled potatoes with salt pepper and butter. The Tenderloin chop was plated over a Demi Glase sauce and topped with crab meat and homemade Hollandaise Sauce.
Ron out did himself.
Mother is so cute. She sat at the table taking in all of our love and adoration. She would giggle if we said something funny. Put her hand over her face if anyone said something even remotely inappropriate. When the food was served her focus was on the food. I helped her cut her meat, other than that she scarfed everything down. Mom does frequently eat with her fingers. If that makes it easier for her nobody cares.

In Portugal mother's day is always celebrated on the first Sunday of the month of May.
