Minor observation: the timer is mechanical and is not aligned to the off/on switch. I.e. if the heat is turned off the timer will continue to operate.

Love the way the chicken looks! Almost like oven fried!!

Whenever we buy potatoes and they look the part, I'll scrub 3 or 4 and drop them in the halogen for 25 - 30 minutes. They keep in the fridge for up to a week in a sealed container.

[Edit: then just pop one (or two) in the microwave (or even back in the halogen) as required]
