My wife had an appointment today, and she wasn't feeling well, so I drove her there...about an hour to get there on icy roads. When we got there, she found out that everything was backed up, and that we'd have to wait at least an hour before she could be seen. But, they offered her a chance to come back the next day after work (it's not far from where she works).
So, she decided to reschedule, and we went to eat at at our favorite burger place, Michael Symon's B-Spot. There, I ordered my favorite burger, the Atomic Burger. The basic burger is 60% chuck, 30% sirloin, and 10% brisket. He then embeds ghost peppers in the burger, and adds pickled jalapeños, cilantro, pepper jack cheese & habanero sauce. I then added pickled green tomatoes, kimchi, and pickled red onions. What's most remarkable about this burger is that he integrates a terrifying chili in a way that has a ton of flavor, but doesn't melt your face off. It's still quite spicy, but it's not just hot for the sake of being hot.
Later, I went shopping at my favorite fruit and vegetable market, and bought what turned out to be borlotti beans, among many other things - including green papaya - that will probably be turned into something or other...not quite sure yet.
