How is the corona virus affecting you?

*SIGH* I am getting behind in reporting on the toll that COVID has taken on my family. Here's where things stand:
  • My dad died last August after having breathing problems. He was never diagnosed.
  • One of my wife's uncles (age 90) died from COVID last summer
  • One of my wife's aunts (age 89) died from COVID 2 months later
  • One of my wife's cousins (age 50) just died this past Sunday
  • At least 4 other family members have been hospitalized, and subsequently recovered.
This doesn't include people who might have caught it without realizing it.
That is so sad. I am so sorry for your losses.
It reminds me of a student of mine, she is 13 y old. All of her immediate fanily have had Covid. Mom, Dad, both Grandparents, brother, sister, herself, aunts, nieces. They unfortunately lost 2 members of the family, I think they passed January/ February, her Grandpa and an aunt, if I remember correctly.

Wrote about it in another thread, 3 friends of my boyfriend had lost their fathers in the last several months.

It's happening all over the globe. Devastating.

I am so glad you and your family got the vaccs.

I was off work for two weeks and for the first week, I could barely move.
Gracious. Bad one. That is exhausting.

I remember the high fever having that effect.

To me personally a worse memory were the bowel rota viruses. Pain and exhaustion from vomiting and frequent no 2s.

The first when my kid was a baby, under 1 y old. She got it first, my ex husband and I soon, within hours.

Second, several y ago, on vacation, both kid and I got some at the same time, slightly different symptoms but horrible, horrible. I never want that again.

All right, so you played football and cricket? How nice!

My thoughts are with those here who have lost family members to it. We have not had a family member succumb to the horrible disease, but we have had two very close relatives die in hospital for other reasons and they passed away without their family with them because of the restrictions .

In better news, 20% of the UK have now had the second jab.

My condolences *hugs*

Hopefully yours will be like mine. I was just tired the day after the second shot. That's it.

It's been nearly seven hours, and that's when people tell me the first of the side effects set in. I've been yawning, but I always do that. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks to Uncle Sam not giving me a choice for 10 years, I've had a flu shot every year since I was 19. I have, to the best of my knowledge, never had the flu, ever. I don't want to start now. :) 💉

Well, I was tired last night, and today, I just feel a little blah, like I don't have the mental or physical energy to concentrate on much or do much. No motivation other than to just sit here. I haven't even gotten dressed yet, which happens about once a decade with me.

Slight headache last night and this morning, but that's already subsiding. My arm is sore, but that should be expected. There's no knot or red mark or anything, which is saying something, because my skin is whiter than a virginal miss in a Jane Austen novel, so you'd think I'd see something.

I am very sorry to hear this, my deepest sympathies. *hugs*

My mate dafyd works at Chch hospital as a boilerman, I spoke to him yesterday via cell, he had his first jab as he's considered essential worker. First person I've heard of that's had the shot. I should have asked him what one it was. ??
