I'd also keep the occasional rabbit in there, but their little legs thump too much against the doors.
Only if you promise to use it every day.
Of course.

I often slip into the kitchen to quickly tidy up & will wash a sinkful while Im in there.
Washing dishes is a purely functional thing for me, not something I want to see anyone do or have anyone see me do.
My SIL's kitchen is like that - the kitchen is small, smaller than mine, even though their house is far bigger (probably built in the late-1990's), and I have to say, I don't like the sink like that.
Her kitchen is a square, and the sink area sits across a corner, more or less, so it looks out on both the dining room and the living room.
Even though I'm not a social person, I could understand if that were the prep area, or counter space used as an eat-in area, or coffee service, but a sink feels almost like having a bathroom with no door on it to me.
Washing dishes is a purely functional thing for me, not something I want to see anyone do or have anyone see me do. When we visit, I always do the dishes (what little there are, as they can't, won't, and don't cook), and I always feel extremely self-conscious when I do so, because everyone can see me.
Yes, we have a dishwasher, and most things go in it, but not everything. Cast iron, obviously not. Same with nonstick cookware (of which I just have two pans, so no big deal).Don't you guys have a dishwasher? I don't wash anything by hand unless its baked on crud (in which case it soaks first). And the cast-iron skillet gets hand washed or simply wiped depending on what is cooked in it.
Then there's one other factor - emptying the dishwasher is the one thing MrsTasty will do in the kitchen. However, she's slow about it, and it can take her up to two days to get it emptied, and in that time, I need to do some dishes.
I ran it last night. The routine will be:On that front I have it solved. The dishwasher only goes on when I go to bed. In the morning, partner gets up much earlier than I do (at 5.30 am) and empties the dishwasher before I get up. Admittedly he does put some things in odd places but at least each day I have an empty dishwasher and all dishes, saucepans etc. are clean.
This will go on for another day or so.
Unfortunately most of our meals are eaten in the den, on tray tables, in front of the idiot box. Not good.
Yes we do. His name is Clayton.Don't you guys have a dishwasher? I don't wash anything by hand unless its baked on crud (in which case it soaks first). And the cast-iron skillet gets hand washed or simply wiped depending on what is cooked in it.
We did a poll about this a while back. I was really shocked by how few people here eat at a dining table given this is a food forum. My TV is clearly viewed from the dining table - so there's no need to move elsewhere to watch it. I find it really difficult to eat in an easy chair on a tray. And I like the way the food looks on a table. I think there is a bit of US/UK divide on this one for some reason.
