Do you cook the cold cuts in your Italian heros/subs/grinders/hoagies?

No lettuce, no toms, double meat, extra pickles...
I’m notoriously too lazy/impatient to special-order most things.

It took me all of 20 seconds to spot that sub on the menu, and I thought, “That’ll work, and I can post it on the forum, since we were just talking about Italian spuckie grinder hoagie hero subs.”

I ordered it and she said, “Do you want it with the works? It’s on the menu there, it’s lettu—“

“The works will be fine, whatever it is.”

Rapini on the side! I'd love that. I have a hard time finding it in a grocery store not to mention on a menu. Lucky you.
We have Broccoli Rabe (Close to it, right?) here in Cowboyville Arizona, which I use to make the typical American-Italian dish with Sausage and Pasta, YUM!!
I'd seen it served before with Italian Sandwiched back in the Philadelphia area and had never tried it until we went to this shop in South Tucson...sadly, they're gone now.

I LOVE Andy Boy brand broccoli rabe. Always so nice, All I do is chop off the very bottom of the stems, the rest is perfect. Not much waste. Fresh garlic and olive oil. YUM

DH's younger sister, who lives in Maryland, uses that stuff - love it! Just can't find that here in Cowboyville.
I did finally find sliced hot cheery peppers and then I simply dice them up myself as needed - forgot that on our hoagies the other day

Not sure why I'm buying chopped hot peppers. I've got like a freezer full of the ones I grow. 🤷‍♂️

That's called "over 60"
The peppers you've got in the freezer, well it's too late to pickle them now, so just blitz them with some vinegar, put them in a jar and cover the top with oil. doesn't have to be olive oil, which is what I use; just a good quality vegetable oil. Seal the jar.
The oil prevents any oxygen from getting in there (well you know that) BUT the capsaicin in the peppers will dissolve in oil. Therefore, a hot pepper sauce.
A few years ago (before I was abroad for 18 months) I had loads of peppers and I just sliced them into rounds, dumped boiling vinegar on them and topped the jar with oil. Great for burgers, sandwiches, on salads, etc because they stay fairly crunchy.
